Amazing place for a relaxed date awesome service and spectacular food. Dan the bartender was so knowledgeable and attentive it put me at ease to try new drinks. Justin the manager ensured service was nothing shy of superb. I'd recommend this spot to anyone. With a menu that gives you great choices of just about anything including the ridiculously cut bone in ribeye (50 something oz). The bone marrow absolutely impeccable. The deviled eggs outta this world..... I EVEN ENJOYED THE DAMN BRUSSEL SPROUTS.. Just all around incredible....I am an official regular!!!!!!

The lobster salad was delicious. Tried the mimosas by the pitch and was very good, a little to the sweet side but tasted very good! Fun place, great atmosphere and excellent customer service, I got Gabrielle as our waitress and she was awesome and very helpful!

Came into the Alchemist for a special dinner with my gf and I. Lucky for us they are open pretty late for food during the week with our hectic schedule. The atmosphere was very cool and casual with the steam punk decor and rustic feeling. It felt high end, yet creatively quirky. My waiter offered us some specialty cocktails. I really loved the mezcal mule and my gf loved her blueberry mule. The carnitas tacos were amazing. Had some citrus flavor and some sort of crackling that adding an awesome crunch. My gf had the chimichurri pasta. Definitely a dish for the seafood lover! Sauce was rich, but not overwhelming. After dinner, the manager came over and bought us dessert (shakes and cookies) for being locals! Win! Service was stellar and everyone was helpful and friendly. The only thing I would change from this place is it was a little too dark. And no, I'm not an old man. 5 stars!

3 words... Burger, burger, burger! Best burger in West Palm seriously. If they had 20 drafts, I'd live here!

It was no surprise that this place was going to be good. I came here for the holiday party and everything was great. Last night was no different. There was a band playing and the lively atmosphere was welcoming. We didn't get a bite to eat since we were stuffed from dinner. So drinks it was. The berry mojito was good like how I remembered it. The bartender didn't rush us out of there due to the crowd it had. The food will definitely be enjoyed next time.

I had the pleasure of checking out this lovely spot with my partner a few days ago and it was awesome! For one the service was great! The staff was informative and very attentive without being overbearing. The manager came over and introduced himself and asked how we liked the food and drinks which in my book is great! Now let's get to the good stuff...we had the calamari fries, crispy artichoke hearts, and spicy lobster poppers....one word DELICIOUS!!!!! I won't go into much detail about each dish but trust me you cannot go wrong with either of these they were absolutely amazing! I don't remember which drinks we had but they were delicious as well and made WELL! This place deserves 10 stars and if you're ever in west palm, fl you should most definitely try The Alchemist Gastropub & Bar!

I really enjoyed this place. Had just gone to an Indian Festival and wanted to relax and have a drink. Ordered the chicken liver pate and the fried shishito peppers. The chicken liver pate was very good. The texture was like a mousse and it was topped with caramelized onions and it came with capers on the side. I had never had shishito peppers before and it was not what I expected. They were not breaded, which is what you usually get when you order fried peppers and they had no heat to them. They were tasty though. I just wish that I were hungrier because the rest of the menu looked amazing. Must go back to check out the rest of it.

Really disappointing. We were so excited to try out this place, secured a babysitter and were on our way! It started out fine, we were seated immediately, put in our drink order and a couple appetizers. Minutes later we put in our entree order. My husband was not impressed with the craft beer selection and my thai me up drink was ok, nothing special. Appetizers were the brussels sprouts and the lamb sausage. Both were good, but the portion size for the lamb sausage was pathetic. Now the problem.... we waited OVER AN HOUR for our entree. The restaurant was not busy at all. We barely even got updates on where our food was. We also weren't the only ones, nobody around us was getting any food. It was awful and management had no control. My biggest problem is that we only had a burger and a salad. It should've taken 20 minutes max. Unfortunately we will not go back because who wants to wait that long for food? By the time we got it we were not hungry and just wanted to get the heck out of there.

Love the concept, vibe and feel. Def wish more places would catch on to this type of bar restaurant. I can appreciate what the owner is trying to do. Great tasting drinks, however presentation of specialty beverages could improve. Gastropubs are opening up everywhere in other cities are doing a lot better. Also, I did not want to eat here because the menu was all over the place. Did not feel comfortable eating from a menu with such a wide variety of dishes from all around the world. Please change menu to reflect one concept. Overall would be a super cool and chill place to hang with friends and have a specialty cocktail. Friendly bartenders and great music.

Three stars only because the first time I was here our bartender gave impeccable service (he has a mustache and was the most attentive bartender I've had in a while Ever with a full bar) this time around came For brunch. 45 minutes for food with only 2 other tables here. 2 bartenders on but neither of them could be bother to refill our drinks as the only people at the bar. Food is thoughtful and well presented from the kitchen. Service is certainly hit or miss.

Such an amazing place for craft cocktails! The bartenders are very knowledgable and creative! They also have a great happy hour! Happy to finally have a place to get nice drinks on Clematis.

  • David W.

Had the lobster poppers, Korean tacos and cajun ribeye. Was really excited to get each dish butttt no bueno. The lobster poppers were extremely salty, I think the sauce was just plain soy sauce hence the saltiness. The Korean tacos consisted of a small piece fried bellly, meh. The steak wasn't cooked to the right temp but had good taste, saved them from a 1 star, but if it was cooked right would've given 3 stars, oh well..

Went here at a friends suggestion and can't wait to go back. The bucket of bacon at the bar was a really good thing! We also tried lots of little plates including shisitos, Brussels sprouts, short rib buns, pork belly tacos, tuna bites, etc. all were quite good! Music a tad loud, but boy deafening. Look forward to going again!

The food is so good here that as I wait for my (our) 44oz dry aged Tomahawk ribeye I am downloading Yelp on my new phone to tell everyone. I am at a loss for words at how good the food is here! There's FREE BACON and homemade pork rinds on the bar. My husband actually asked if it was ok to eat them because it seemed too good to be true. Then I veered from sharing the usual ceazar salad and got the unexpected watermelon feta salad at Keith's (handlebar moustache bartender) recommendation. OMFG the best salad I've ever had in my life! Not being a salad person that's a big deal. Not kidding, not drunk. I will be back just for that. Enough feta to last a week! I love great wine but i am also cheap so the half off happy hour is fabulous. So i have to go now because my steak is coming soon.... more later.

  • Chris B.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was awesome (pork belly tacos, lobster mac n cheese and the skirt steak) not to mention the over the top cocktails. The clockwork orange was tremendous. Great job Dan and Keith, and thanks for a lovely evening.

  • C B.

The dumplings (should be called shumai) were covered in mayonnaise (not aioli); pork sliders were mediocre at best (even though served with pickles on top, which I specifically asked to be excluded); draft beer was on special for a "special" reason (bad line); the staff was rude & arrogant about their failings. Did I mention this is about the 5th chance I have give this place? And I almost forgot about the leaking ceiling that my other friend endured (the one that didn't have the moldy beer).....

This has become one of my favorite local spots, because it does not fall into that "Florida Tourist" mindset. It rather provides for a great atmosphere mixed with great food and drinks. This time we had Anthony, one of the long time servers who was awesome in his attention to detail on the table placement as well as matching menu items with our Vegetarian requirements. The desert was one of his recommendations and was simply delightful. Light, just the right portion size for two and all in all a great end to a very nice lunch. Of all the places on Clematis, this is the place with the best food and drinks. That is if you don't buy into the Jimmy Buffet Florida myth, and actually want great food and drinks.

Awesome Margarita Pizza and great bottle of Saldo Merlot. Service from our waitress Gabrielle was outstanding!

  • Stephanie Z.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere and not to mention the prices. Everything is completely reasonable. If you're looking for pure awesomeness, than this is the place to be.

  • Rebekah N.

Good service, up to date, unique menu with vegetarian options. However, I ordered the kale soup & although I appreciate the fact that it was organic, it was not as flavorful as I would have liked. Was not a value as it was price higher than most soups at $9. As I was eating it, I felt like it should be part of someone's diet plan, similar to a "cabbage soup." But I digress, everything else from the vegan wraps to the caprese salad was great. Liked the outdoor seating too

We have visited the Alchemist 3 times now and happy to report that this new addition to the Clematis Street scene is quite solid. Favorite dishes include pretty much the entire street fare section -- Korean tacos (or really anything rhyming the "aco"), po' boy, The burgers also give Grease a run for their money. Where I give Alchemist the biggest props is atmosphere. Most recent openings in WPB have lacked any sort of special angle. Alchemist is just the right volume and music at night. There was never an out-of-control bar scene or someone singing into a mic with the knob set to 11. BUT, Alchemist isn't Palm Beach stuffy either. Also, in a nice change of pace, there aren't 5 televisions glaring from the bar. Overall a terrific experience. As a pretend chemist by day, I beg you to find a chemist friend who is willing to draw molecules correctly. With Scripps so near by, it shouldn't be hard... ;-)

Great food and drinks! My friends and I decided to have a few drinks at Alchamist and ordered the pesto chicken pizza & truffle fries with wine & a sunset cocktail and everything was amazing! From the bartender with the stash (Keith) to the complimentary bacon & pork rinds at the bar this was a great night. We came on a Wednesday, not too busy & great service. Will be back again

  • Jade T.

Never disappointed when coming here! Interesting and diverse menu, great tasting items, fun cocktails and great ambiance(on the louder side). All staff has always been great and really informative! One of the best on Clematis! One request: BRING BACK THE COCONUT WATER MOJITOS :)

We were looking forward to dining last night but its unfortunate that after being promptly seated no one came to our table. Manager passed us twice as did two servers. So after 7 minutes we left. Menu looked fantastic as did drinks.

  • Prinzzess F.

Terrible terrible service. Took an hour to get a margherita pizza and place was less than 1/4th occupied. Terrible attitude from bartender. And the wood fired crust they call margherita pizza is a flat bread standard cheese pizza with a little basil and olive oil on top. U can't call that a margherita. Sauce had good flavor that's it. I never got asked if I wanted another beer after about 20-30 mins of it being empty either.

I ordered a $22 steak salad and it was a soggy salty mess. Disappointing dining experience.

We were looking for a change of pace from our standard rotation of dinner places. While I hate to go downtown as it get so busy we ventured out. We were very happy with the food and service. The options are good and the food was all very good. The only issue is it's very loud and the prices are a couple dollars higher than I would like. Overall a nice place and would come again.

There brunch is super yummy. I had the steak and eggs and she had the duck hash. Also there Bloody Mary is pretty good.

Went with a decent sized group on a Friday night before happy hour ended. Servers had no idea about any specials, once happy hour ended drinks were above average in price, food was average, and one of the singers in the live band was plastered. A hot mess and it was incredibly awkward. That being said, the General Managers were fantastic when we brought the situation to their attention at the end of the night, the concept is awesome, and the vibe in place is very comfortable. Unfortunately with so much competition, we won't be coming back.

Stopped by for dinner when I was in town for a friend's wedding. Great location right on Clematis with a nice outdoor seating area. Excellent service, food and drinks. We were first provided hummus + pita bread. The bread was so soft and tasted freshly made. For appetizer, we started with the chicken pate jar (the best pate i have ever had in my life!!!!!). For entrees, I had an Alchemist burger and my bf had the herb roasted chicken. My burger was amazing! So many delicious and complementary flavors. The chicken was good, but a bit on the dry side.

  • Marco D.

I had a bacon infused burger, it was good but a bit too much, come hungry! The ambience was loud, but the staff was very nice! Great wine list, wasn't too much of a wait. Carly the server was amazing!

  • David F.

Excellent drinks and a wide variety of good food options! We were helped out by Max, who recommended a very good cocktail (try the aviation). Another good addition to the downtown scene.

  • Yisel C.

Came here to grab some lunch with a friend, I was surprised by the decor which I really liked! The food was also very good! I had a burger recommended by the waitress with feta cheese and I enjoyed it! The salad on the side was delicious as well. My friend ordered a salad which was pretty good but a very very small portion. Luckily we had ordered an appetizer that was also really good! I would give if 5 stars, except we asked for extra bread for the appetizer and for 3 slices that we ate ( didn't get to eat the 4th because the waitress took away the plate without asking if we were done!) they charged 5$!!!! But overall great experience and will be back!

  • Peter R.

Good Brussel sprouts and humus, but beyond that nothing good, weak drinks and below average tasting entrees, lamb burger salty and house special of prawns and grits heavy on grits and light on prawns got 3 heads and 2 tails.

Came here today for brunch with a group of my friends, and man this place was amazing! First the free appetizers that came were pita & hummus (my favorite) and a basket of delicious pastries. Then the manager offered to buy us a bottle of champagne since it was our first time there. The food came out super fast and was the best food we've had in awhile! It was also one of our friend's birthdays and they brought out the best looking and tasting chocolate dessert we've ever had. Not only that but they had an amazing jazz singer singing live the whole time. By far one of the best brunches I've had in awhile. Amazing customer service, delicious food and overall great atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back, this is my new favorite spot.

More style than substance. Very hipstery interior. Friendly service but boy was the food awful. Chicken pate was gamey and served in a "jar" that prevented you getting two thirds of it out, which in retrospect was probably a good thing "Crispy" Brussels sprouts were totally soggy and sitting in liquid. Elote was dried out cold corn on the cob with globs of mayonnaise just thrown on it. Croque monsieur was inedible. How do you screw up a hot ham and cheese sandwich? The bread was stale and cold, the ham looked like it was straight out of a package and the bechamel was like snot. The only bright spot was Josh at the bar who was completely friendly and competent. Otherwise, I regret we walked in the door.

One of the best Brunch experiences I have had living in downtown WPB over 5 years. The service was exceptional at the bar and the food was amazing. The King crab guacamole was delicious. Much better vibe than Wine Dive and better drinks. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed Wine Dive a few years ago, but it is too crowded and the cheap booze make Mondays rough. The band that played was great and did not intrude on conversation and the music was phenomenal.

  • Ashley A.

I've only been twice, and I have to admit, the primary reason I head over there is for the cocktails, but so far the burger has been above-average, the korean street tacos have been great and every drink on the menu i've tried has been tasty. I'm looking forward to trying out some additional dishes soon.

Ok, let's start with the basics... The hummus was so delicious and the flat bread was fresh. I had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with truffle fries. It really made my day to have such a tasty and savory dish. I finished my meal by having the grilled peach with lavender infused capote! WOW is all I can say. My mouth was in heaven and the price was just right. I would definitely recommend this place to all of my friends!

When I first visited this restaurant for opening week I was unsure how well they would do. My meal and service was fine, however I didn't leave this place "wow'd" at first encounter. I decided to go back and give it another try...and I was blown away by the delicious and unique food selection, and friendly quirky hipster service. This place is definitely a cool spot to meet up with friends or work colleagues. Try the artichoke poppers! Yum!

  • Jr E.

Firstly these cocktails are so fire. I was expecting some watered down sweet tasting beverage but was pleasantly surprised they actually put bourbon in the drink. The food here is good too, nothing to write home about but they've got good tapas and appe-teasers. The drinks get 5 stars and the food gets three. Average it out to 4 stars overall, good replacement to the Irish place that was here before.

This place wouldn't honor a bus loop deal they signed up for. Overrated and waaaaay to hipster douchebag.

Awesome service, good food, great ambiance. The Mexican Burger was delicious and the berry lemonade was great.

  • Karen F.

Great atmosphere. Not much has changed from last restaurant as far as decor. Food was so tasty. Fried artichoke appetizer was excellent. Portobello burger was delicious. Love the ability to have side salad choice. My husband had chicken pesto pizza. Wonderful.....but had to take doggie bag!

Keith, our bartender was amazing! First time in West Palm Beach. Read reviews on The Alchemist and figured it was worth a while. No tables for two available so we sat at the bar and stayed after seeing how dedicated Keith was to taking care of us and making us "special" drinks according to our taste. This is our first stop in west palm and we will make sure to return!! We had the beet salad and the filet tagliata...both super delicious and well crafted. A must stop, if you are in town. Enjoy!

I really have no words....other than fan-freaking-tastic....every meal breakfast, lunch and dinner has been spectacular...Brunch: duck hash and soft shell crab eggs benny...r u kidding me!!!! Flawless...the burgers are outrageous....had a dinner of apppetizers...lobster poppers, dumplings, truffle mac and cheese, short rib sliders....again...blown away!!!! The service is good.....really young however....need a few seasoned servers on the floor...diversity folks NOT all guests and customers are hipsters.....the bartender is brilliant and entertaining and the assistant managers I have met....as they do touch almost every table...so important were fantastic.....the GM Craig is a bit aloof and hauty....not like the rest of the team, which is incredibly friendly and outgoing.

  • Jessica A.

Fantastic experience. Our server was Steve, and honestly we thought he was a manager at first - extremely attentive, knowledgeable, listened to our tastes and had some great recommendations. The owner and sommelier/managing shareholder even came and shot the breeze with us for a while. Extremely impressed with the service, food, and wine. Already huge fans of "gastropubs" and they exceeded our expectations. We were merely here on vacation, but they treated us like well connected regulars. Class act.

  • Jeff D.

Great little lunch spot on a Saturday afternoon. Fun and playoff atmosphere with a lively crowd. We ate inside but they have outside seating. Had a lobster salad that was just the right touch of lobster arugula and dressing. Fresh and filling. I had the signature burger which had the best seasonings I have ever tasted. It was cooked at the exact temperature which you rarely get these days. Lastly,Gabrielle our server was amazing and it continued throughout. She approached with a smile, had personality galore, made recommendations where appropriate and knows that art of a great service. The food could have been mediocre and Gabrielle could have made it taste like we were eating bobby flays finest creations. She is a difference maker. Great spot and will return.

Great atmosphere and a customer service. Sliders and burger were nothing out of this world, but still delicious. We did love the speciality cocktails.

The food is amazing and the service was beyond great. I wasn't a fan of some of there specialty drinks but when I found one I liked it was delicious. The atmosphere is laid back and I can't wait to go back and try more of the food!

This is my fourth time experiencing The Alchemist, and I must say, I've noticed the place get better and better. The servers, the music level, the atmosphere. This place is a great addition to WP. We've become friendly with one of the managers, a bartender and a few of the servers and they recognize us every time. Enjoying our date night here.

This is a definitive gastro pub: loud beer drinking men cursing at the bar and ginormous food servings to boot. I found the staff to be respectful, if not quite yet personable ( it's still a rather new establishment), of course. I was here on a Friday in October for Happy Hour. It was cute to see the staff in Halloween costumes and the decorations SUBTLE. I see a small stage in here. I hope they don't fall into the lapse of yet another acoustic musician like the rest of the street and opt, instead, for a spoken word poet or comedian. The ambience is almost undercover regal with sturdy wood tables with "chips" and "knife gauges". The music had a cool vibe to it though a bit too American for British realism. It got obnoxiously louder at 6:00. I abhor having to shout to my dining companions. Regality turned to trashy. The food was average at best. I was offered a lovely suggested at my request of the day's special by a Southern born Server who applauded the chicken and waffles, a Southern staple ($17). I was incredibly under impressed. While the chicken was incredibly moist and the fried skin quite tasty, the meat itself was abnormally bland and the waffles were dry, dry, dry. Good thing I was presented with $5 bottle of sparkling water! (San Benedetto). I found it a bit odd how long it took my dish to make it to my table; the pub was essentially empty and mine arrived AFTER the table sat ten minutes after mine... And they had ribs! The dish was served with black, rubbery, waffle cut sweet potato fries on the side. These were presented with an adorable little miniature pitcher of watery catsup... OH WAIT!!! ... Thaaaat's tobasco. Wow. Nice. Th Ka for the warning. ( and don't tell me to look in the menu, remember I was up sold this dish by the Server.) The chef did a walk through but didn't speak. The totally hot manager came to ask the ubiquitous, "how was everything"? But he left as quickly a was road runnerly possible and didn't seem to really read into my subtext of, "well, the chicken was very moist." Finally on the food. I was presented with. Complimentary basket of pita bread and the grittiest hummus ever. Ew. Firstly... Hummus? In a gastro pub? Secondly.... I had finished my first glad of wine. HOW does pita and hummus take that long to land on my table? The wine selection was quite nice. The mixture of Californian and south-of-the-equator options was pleasing pleasing pleasing. The wine list is presented in a twin menu folder that had a metal exterior. I could almost imagine Hagar the Horrible bashing a fellow Viking over the head with one of these sturdy booklets! Is this a "Must Do" place. No. Not for Clematis Street. You will have a nice drink and nice ambience when you do stop in, though. Oh, and the wifi password is "cocktail". And it's fast!

What a great meal. First of all the service was very good. The server gabby led us through all of the options answering a barrage of questions from me with ease. We started with the Blue Crab Guacamole - which was generous on the crab and absolutely delicious. Next, she got the filet and I got the burger. Both we're prepared perfectly. The burger was huge and full of flavor. I tried the filet and it melted in my mouth. Very good. Overall - it was a great experience, we'll be back.

I have NEVER been disappointed at the Alchemist! The food is AMAZING!!! Try the truffle Mac and cheese!!! Everything I have ever ordered had been perfect! Don't forget the lobster poppers! My favorite place to be is the bar. All of the Alchemist crew is top notch - Keith is the greatest bartender I have ever encountered. You can tell him you want a drink that tastes like orchids in a rainstorm and he creates cocktail magic! If you like whiskey or bourbon, ask for the Leviticus or the Kentucky BBQ (not on the menu and only Keith makes it). Dan is awesome as well - great bartender with a great beard!! Helpful and charismatic! This is the restaurant I take all my friends to - a MUST!

Amazing place (food and service)!! The Spicy Lobster poppers for an appetizer were fantastic. I then had the Korean Food Truck Tacos which were by far the best tacos I have ever eaten. Braised pork belly, kimchi, and a crunchy pork cracklings inside with a lime aoli sauce topped with cilantro. To die for!! (It is 3 tacos, so large enough to share) I will be back, and soon! Ask for Max!! Great Server and very knowledgable!

If a science lair and a gastropub had a love child this would be the place! Very eclectic, cozy, and rustic vibe. The bar uniforms were sexy and fitting, but the server uniforms clash with the restaurant. The grab guacamole was rich. It was a huge portion. The flavor was a little bland, but still good. The lobster poppers were tangy and delicious. The cool salad and warm sauce gave a great infusion of temperatures that blended the flavors. For my entree, I had the branzino. Presentation was gorgeous...until the server deboned it. I was left with a two filets of fish in the middle of plate. Flavor was outstanding! Sauce was rich and gave a slight kick to the flaky fish. Bones were annoying but expected in a whole fish. The manager came over and started a conversation with me. He bought me a cocktail when I told him it was my first time dining. A nice unexpected touch. The server was also very informative. He even went to find out answers when he couldn't answer all my questions. I was pretty full for dessert. But I will return for more.

We went for lunch. A few at our table has the short rib grilled cheese, the menu item that brought us in. Another had a special order for a grilled chicken sandwich (it wasn't on the menu) and he really enjoyed it. My chicken pizza had good flavor but was unnecessarily greasy and had very little chicken. The water glasses are tiny so unless you have amazing service, if you're drinking water, prepare to be thirsty. Two people at the table shared a burger. They both picked around it, but neither complained (they shared 2 gastropub items so they were full). When the waitress picked up their plates, someone at the table was taken aback by how rare it was cooked. He questioned how they asked for it. They said medium. I suggested she show it to her manager. The manager came over and made it a point to say it wasn't raw, and that that is their version of medium. They probably should have mentioned that at time off order. ! My boyfriend loves meat barely cooked and even he was shocked. The manager let us know that next time we order a burger, make sure we order is medium well. No,sir...I think not. I plan to go back to grease and order it medium.

NEVER AGAIN!! The decibel levels are just absurd!! Music blasting like being in a live rock concert! You can't have a conversation without yelling !! We ordered a "to go" meal and specifically told the waitress to not place the order until we were done with our meal. Guess what, we had just received our appetizers and the guy came with out "to go" meal which means another hour until we would leave the joint with the food being cold! We sent it back, they said they were going to cook a fresh order to go. Towards the end when we were about to leave they brought our "fresh" to go food ... COLD !! Thank you all for your kindness! Good luck with your business.

Wow! Great food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Tomahawk Ribeye for two w bone marrow and potatoes was unbelievable! Devils eggs, angry wings, and specially the buffalo fried oysters were all unique and amazing! Will be back!!!

DO NOT MISS the calamari fries! I'm not even a fan of calamari, but these were outstanding! Delicious french martini, too ;)

We went here with some friends the other night and it was wonderful! The boathouse drink is delicious. It's too good, I could have drank them all night. Three of the four of us at our table just couldn't get past the El Mexicano burger. It just looked too good and it didn't disappoint. It was really really good. Our fourth ordered the mushroom pizza and she loved it. It looked great. The portions are huge, prices are good, and our waiter was just so nice! It's a large menu and took us a few minutes to really look it over and decide and he was very patient, didn't make us feel rushed at all. We will definitely be back because there are several more items on that menu I really want to try!

Giant burgers. Sausage array was just one kind, very tasty, not a huge meal. Don't do separate checks beyond half the group size.

I love this place. We go there nearly once a week. The food is great, the wait staff is friendly and the place has a cool edgy vibe. I love the truffle Mac and cheese and the twist on the caprese salad. They also offer a great tomato soup with brie grilled cheese. Last time we were there my husband the biggest loaded hot dog I have ever seen! He loved it.

They gave us free pita and hummus. I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp and it was out of this world - like a citrusy spicy sauce. They had good beers and cocktails as well, I'll be back

Ok...where to begin. First, the food is phenomenal. We ordered the kale salad, the tomato bisque soup with sourdough Brie grilled cheese, the Burrata salad, and the Cajun Po Boy. All were divine, but the real treat is the Master Bartender, Keith. Keith is a mixologist in the fullest sense of the word. His concoctions are all his own - he is a true student of Drink. His cocktails are not just unique, but surprising and a joy to sample. Ask him to surprise you - we did three times and were thrice rewarded. His alcoholic doctoring of our milk shake was like nothing I would ever have imagined. It was the perfect desert to top off a terrific meal.

This restaurant seemed pretty cool when we walked by, the decor is very nice. But... We had a high top which is not bad but the seats were very uncomfortable especially since our food took an hour to get. The manager bought us a round of drinks and told us it would be out soon. And then the entrees came, I got the special shrimp and grits which consisted of a bowl of grits and two shrimp staring at me. It looked fancy and tasted good but to me it seemed more like an app. My girlfriends food was lukewarm at best and the bill amounted to over 150 bucks. Maybe they take long on the food so you order more drinks??? Anyways I would not go back and would not recommend it. The only good thing was the lobster ball thing appetizer we got first, but it does not excuse the rest of the meal

Empty on a Thursday night, ordered a Long Island iced tea got charged $12 which is ridiculous. Anyways we only stopped by here for a drink before going to the Monarchy Nightclub, but wasn't worth the time and money. Nothing special just another bar with expensive drinks.

Went here on a Sunday brunch. The curb appeal is good. Design and cleanliness are very good. The drink selection is very good, but the food is alright, not going to blow you away. I think its a little pretentious, which is not always a bad thing, but is when it sacrifices the quality of your food. The buns on their sandwiches and burgers ( I think there are pictures from another Yelper) look good, but are far too big and dry. Good for pictures, bad in the mouth. The chicken sandwich was overcooked and dry, so was the bun. On the bright side, the fries were good. Also, the Veggie Mezzette was good

Went there for lunch. Loved the interior art direction. Unfortunately the food and service didn't live up to the decor. The place was mostly empty yet food took an awfully long time to appear. The craft beer selection (considering this is a "gastro pub") was pretty dire with only two beers (one a cider) on draft. Burgers were mediocre, and so was the lunch menu choice. If you don't like burgers there wasn't really a lot of good stuff to chose from. Flies buzzing around everywhere (granted they keep the front doors open on a hot summer's day but still not something you want to deal with). Servers were pleasant, but found myself looking for them more than I should. Sort of reminded me of one of those theme pubs you visit at Universal Studios or Disney. Where a lot more thought went into the decor versus the quality of food. Alas won't be back.

Cool spot in Clematis in West Palm Beach! Food was great. I visited the place because I recently heard about an addition to the neighborhood. It's nice to have variety increasing in West Palm. First, I was provided complimentary house made hummus with pita bread....delicious gift from the kitchen. This is a great alternative to butter or olive oil. Second, I had the Peruvian Panca Grilled Prawns....succulent. The prawns were tender and juicy with nice flavor. The house mango slaw added color to the plate and brightened the prawn flavor plus cleansed my palate. Nibbling on the skewer afterwards provides remnants of the delicious prawn. Third, I had the Tuna & Caviar Cones....fantastic. The enjoyed the Floridian yellow fin tuna garnished with the tobiko caviar. The tuna just melted in my mouth and the slightly salt from the caviar accentuated the freshness of the tuna. I also liked how the mini cornets provided a crunch for the dish without overpowering the tuna. I will definitely go back and try other items on the menu. I look forward to the presentation and flavored to come. Lastly, Jamie was a splendid bartender. She was casual, comfortable, and knew the menu so was able to guide me and provide knowledge of the cuisines from the Alchemist. Now it's time for me to practice alchemy....ha, ha!

I recently went here with a group of 10 people. 3 people paid their tab separately and one person provided me with cash and left. The bill for the remainder came and we paid the majority with cash ($140) and the remainder on a credit card ($15) with the tip on the bill going on the credit card. The waiter took the card and ran the card for the entire bill (10 people)!...not the one he gave us (7 people) saying the other people didn't pay him, which was a flat out lie. The manager on duty sided with the waiter and would not reverse the unauthorized charge on the credit card! We signed the card with a zero tip because we were afraid if we did not sign they would run an unauthorized gratuity. DO NOT a TRUST THIS PLACE. The service is awful anyway. Spend your money elsewhere. These people are thieves.

Entrees came out 25 minutes apart. Mine came out with the appetizer. I should have sent it back and said to have the kitchen make me a fresh hot entree when the other entree came instead of letting it sit. Needless to say a cold burger is never as good as one fresh off the grill. The cheese was cold and crusty by then and the fries soggy. The waitress blamed the kitchen when she should have said I'll take it off the bill or offered me something else when I said its cold. Then when my friend's drink didn't come out for 20 minutes after ordering it and we were finished with entrees and they were cleared and we were ready to go - we said forget about the drink just give us the check. She presents the bill and she said I took it off. Hello- yes, you don't charge us for the drink - it never came! Idiot. Really I went through the exercise of stupidity because I was enjoying my friend's company and didn't want to complain. We laughed it off, but when people asked us on the sidewalk what we thought we recommend 3 other places. This place needs to figure it out or it will die like the other Clematis failures. If I had the option of a 1/2 star I would rate it that.

Great vibe, cool vintage feel, wonderful service, excellent food. Had dinner here on a Tuesday night. It wasn't crazy busy but, busy for a weeknight for sure. We sat at the bar, had some nice wine and a great craft wheat beer from Florida. We ordered several apps and small plates...They start you with hummus and warm pita which was some of the best I've had... the fried peppers - very nice flavor without too much heat and went great with the miso sauce, Scotch Eggs - really nice, eggs were cooked perfectly, Bone Marrow - they add extra braised short rib meat to the halved bones along with caramelized onions - wicked rich and delicious!, Lobster Poppers - Asian flavor, very large portion with a nice amount of lobster, and Pretzel and Fondue which the generous and friendly Ellie (proprietor) hooked us up with - the best pretzel bread, nicely crisp on the outside but, warm and soft on the inside and the fondue was fantastic - so delicious and rich. The wine list, drink menu, and beer selection were extensive and varied. Summer was an attentive bartender, she was very accommodating and friendly. Overall - quality food, generous portions, hip atmosphere, great service.. Can't wait to go back!

Good food and good service. The tomahawk steak was pretty solid, as well as the korean tacos and brussel sprouts. The grilled prawn and ribs pasta chef's special were excellent as well. Not a big fan of the guac and chicken pizza though...

Our first time walking into the Alchemist. Place smells of slow cooked heaven and fresh citrus with hints of garden herbs. The company you never met & the alchemist Keith McCarthy make you feel like you should have been here earlier but glad you landed. The food is excellent the ambiance is reflective of a dream you wish you never woke up from. Laugh, love and eat well. Looking forward to returning!

Tried the procuito and figs. Not for right for me, though others like it. I had the Braised pork belly. It was good and well presented. The Resturant is well decorated, clean, and has an open feel. I was there at 4 pm, the place was empty, and quiet. Perfect atmosphere for me.

Went Saturday night with a party of 6. Originally told that there'd be about a 25 minute wait, but wound up waiting for a table for about 45 minutes. Not the restaurants' fault and I give them credit for keeping us updated as we waited. Without exception, everyone commented on how great the food was... my hamburger was phenomenal. Equally great was the Jon Zeeman band... Great food, great music!

If you haven't been to this phenomenal location yet, I definitely recommend checking it out. One of the most unique menus in South Florida. Each item is precise but there is something for every taste preference. The ideal trained staff -- their work ethic is top-notch & congruent amongst all team members. (Request Anthony's section for an overload of kindness & entertainment!) The specialty drinks are the best downtown. Atmosphere & artwork is an experience in itself. Live music, positive energy, great fun -- the perfect restaurant for all types of gatherings.

Another WPB restaurant that gets lots of hype but didn't quite meet the expectations. Had the blue crab guacamole, which was an interesting mix. Also tried the Korean "food truck" tacos which were tasty but overall kinda dry. The good thing is they offer corn tortillas as an option if you request them.

If I could give this a 4.5 I would. It has the atmosphere of a neighborhood pub but the food and cocktails are very good. Order the lobster puffs, the cheeseburger, and the new fasioned. Joey was our waiter and he was very good and patient with us.

Been to this place a few times and I must say I am enamored with the food selection. Our server suggested items off the menu and we could not have been happier with what he brought out. Try the lobster poppers as an appetizer and the lobster mac for an entree. We came in on a pretty busy Saturday night but the waitstaff was on point. Gabriel (our server) was calm and collected the whole time, excellent service I may say. Definitely one of my favorite spots on Clematis now because of the atmosphere, service, and food.

way over rated. lobster poppers? undercooked and deep fried rice balls with a sloppy lobster mix on top.. that's your popper. Carnitias tacos? wrong torts sent, no apology, overcooked, dry and cold pork. shrimp and scallop pasta? cold, gummy pasta, overcooked shrimp and a couple scallops. I cook better than all this everyday at home and should have stayed there. Waiter messed up, said he could not adjust the bill without a manager. Manager shows up and gets in our face about the meal and says there's nothing he can do. No need to try much else there. Good luck

I will give it to the server, he was good unfortunately the food was terrible. I mean terrible, burnt toppings and buns on our burgers. You can tell they were aiming high in the quality area but did not execute at all. Left very disappointed and still hungry : (

I've been to The Alchemist three times before writing a review, and sadly the third time was not the charm. I'm giving this new spot on Clematis' infamous east side two stars because the ambience is cool and inviting, however I experienced some major issues with the food and service upon my three visits. To summarize, with each visit I waited way too long for my food and drinks to arrive at my table. Each time I was with a party of 4 or less. The service is friendly, but extremely unorganized and slow. My third visit had me and my girlfriend waiting 20 minutes for a club soda and beer. 20 minutes! On this occasion, the girlfriend ordered the vegetarian mazette, which consists of peta, hummus, olives, etc, and shortly after ordering, the waiter brought out a huge portion of peta bread and hummus as a 'on the house' appetizer. Once her entree came out (40 mins later) we were inundated with more peta and hummus. I tried the prosciutto & figs and couldn't finish them. The taste was not balanced and it was difficult to bite into them. Our waiter recommended the spicy lobster poppers, but we were unimpressed with the lack of lobster and abundance of breading. Since we were mostly sharing, I also ordered a plate of chicken empanadas (which shouldn't even be on the menu). They were too bready, and lacked enough chicken, much like the lobster poppers. Speaking of the menu, it has way too many choices. My experience is when a restaurant has this many options, the food quality goes way down, and this is the case at The Alchemist. In regards to the wait staff, upon being seated, we waited 10 minutes before anyone came to get our drink order. Finally server #1 came by to say he would be right with us, then server #2 came by to ask if we had been helped yet. Server #1 came back for drink orders, then server #2 asked if we had ordered drinks. This went on the whole night. Very annoying. I wanted this place to be a good spot that rivaled Hullabaloo on the west end, but it just isn't. Perhaps if the menu is dramatically reduced, and the service is improved, I will give it another shot.

Complementary greasy pita bread with bland hummus.. Ordered lobster poppers and Brussel sprouts to start. The lobster poppers were subpar. The Brussel sprouts were delicious. I had the American burger and it was good but pretty salty. The service was ok, our waiter was pretty dense. We asked him about several things and he kind of just stared at us like a deer in headlights. He also forgot one of our side dishes. The fries had a weird flavor and the sweet potato fries were rubbery and bland. Not sure if I would visit again. Way better places on the block.

We went a few days ago and it was OK. Looks almost the same as Irish place that closed. Had the shrimp pesto pizza, it was on a crust that was pre made and had the consistency of a cracker. Portobello burger was OK, but sweet potato fries were frozen kind. Waitress was OK. Probably won't be back for food, and sadly I don't see them being around long.

Whoa !!!,,, what a place this is ,,, WPB is been clamoring for a venue like this for a long time,,, from the greetings to the marvelous staff u feel like everyone wants to please , the menu cover is unique and beautiful and the atmosphere is second to none,,,, but once we taste the food we were hooked, the lobster poppers r to dye for , shishito peppers r delicious could not stop eating them, this menu has something for everyone ,,,, my friends love this true gastropub and cant wait to go back.

Really enjoyed this place. I tried the Baby Kale Salad and the Spicy Lamb Sliders. I thought the presentation was unique and the dishes were spectacular. Good food, good atmosphere, and at a good price. My new spot. Clematis is a fun place to be. Love living here.

A group of us went to this restaurant for lunch and we will not be going back. Granted it is a new restaurant and some tweaking needs to be made, this place was a let down overall. I ordered a wood-fired pizza (Chicken Pesto), which was nearly soaked with oil that looked like it was drizzled on after the pizza was cooked. Even when it was boxed afterwards, the oil soaked through the bag. Additionally, and more concerning to me, is that my friend ordered the Lemoncello Salmon, which sounded like a salmon filet on the menu. However, we were shocked to find out the salmon was raw. I could see this being a problem for people are who grossed out by raw food. This is something I believe should be disclosed either on the menu or by the waiter/waitress. Either by coincidence or not, two out of three have immediately felt sick. Again, not a place we will return to. The best part of the restaurant were the books the receipts were enclosed in. The decor and the concept are pretty neat, but there is a lot of improvement that needs to be done. We appreciated the discount on receipt as well so customer service is not lacking.

Gang this place is AWESOME. FOODIES: the portions are well wrought and generously served. This is a true gastropub with all that implies - great apps (lots of choices and great variations on more classic themes) and fabu entrees (steaks are divine, seafood dishes sublime) and WINE BUFFS: this is hands down the best wine list off the island, and competes strongly with anything Palm Beach has to offer. Service is friendly and impeccable. Jo Jo behind the bar is a prime mixologist, and any of the wait staff are great for taking care of you - although Gabby is my favorite, Matt or any of the others are outstanding. This is a can't miss IMHO. NOTE that the vibe is upper crust hipster, so be prepared for a lively atmos and diverse but somewhat younger clientele in average. Enjoy!

I easily could have given this place 5 stars, but I'm nitpicky. My boyfriend and I went in for a late dinner this past Friday night. Positives first: our server Robert was excellent. Perfect balance of being helpful and leaving us to enjoy our meal. The music was super fun and at a perfect volume. There wasn't anything on the menu that was jumping out at me (aside from the lobster mac and I didn't want to eat a super heavy meal) so I had the roasted chicken. It was an excellent surprise, out of this world good. Chicken can be very meh but when done right...hot damn. The poutine that accompanied it was unreal. My man had the skirt steak and was more impressed with the chicken. We had the Brussels sprouts small plate and they were charred to perfection. Nitpicks: the water glasses at the dinner table are too small. We are the kind of people that slam water. It's annoying to constantly be out of water and have our server at the table. I would imagine it is annoying as a server to have to keep an eye on your guests and always be at their table. Second thing that kept a 5 star review was the rules over happy hour. We finished dinner right after 11 when happy hour started. We wanted to have a glass of wine after our meal but it was only available at the bar. We cashed out with Robert and headed to the bar, thereby stiffing him from another $15 on our dinner check. Oh well. The bartenders were super cool, and recommended our new fav spot Hullabaloo. Lastly, please take down your yelp check in coupon since it expired 10 days ago. Overall it was a great dinner and will go back next time we are in WPB.

Can you hear me NOW!!!!! If you are dining here you may say this often. Well not too often because you will be chewing a lot as well. The food is good. Really good. We had a little of everything. Pork belly tacos, burger, wings, dumplings, calamari, pasta, beer and cocktails. Wait I hate to admit there were only 4 of us. Everything was good but the calamari was tasteless and strangely presented. Omg, justin just brought dessert to the table. My MOL is in heaven. She loves the berries and cream. The cookies and milk.....milkshake that is were awesome. I would say it's definitely a place to enjoy on a summer evening. Sit outside if you want to talk to your table. Or talk really really loud. Slowly sip one of the great cocktails and contemplate the wonders of life in South Florida.

I walked by this place a few times before I actually went in. The decor drew me in. It looks like an old school apothecary. I felt that Santiago Shepherd boy could be in the back. I came here for an early lunch right when it opened and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice. She brought out hummus and pita bread while I waited for my food to come out. I ordered the Caldo Verde ($9) and Crayfish Po'boy($12). The Caldo Verde is a kale soup with a pork base broth. It was delicious. It was also a large serving. So large that I knew I'd only manage a few bits of the Po'boy. The Crayfish Po'boy was on the fluffiest bread imaginable. I couldn't detect Crayfish (it is deep-fried in batter), but whatever, it tasted like fried heaven in a sandwich. It was supposed to come with cajun flavored potato chips, but the bartender said that they didn't have those. Instead, the chips were replaced with a heap of fries. This place is worth a try!

Lunch Service left much to be desired, the waiter was a slow and forgot my drink order a couple times. I ordered the lobster and arugula salad, which was amazing, but definitely left me wanting more - it was a VERY small portion, especially compared to my compadres who ordered a burger and the lettuce wraps (very generous portions) and were very tasty. No alcoholic drinks were ordered, but I would love to go back and try them.

First off the atmosphere is very off beat for downtown west palm beach; it actually has the feel of a joint in TriBeCa -NY- bar atmosphere, decor, bartender attire. They drinks menu is interesting and they even sling a bucket of crispy bacon. The main event was the alchemist burger- I highly recommend . Chris and Dan are cool and they even let me sample some of their favorite whiskeys.

Yeah--this is not your typical bar and restaurant. Everyone that works here is intelligent and friendly. Bartenders mix up excellent original craft cocktails. Their kitchen serves up astonishingly good food. I recommend ordering a handful of appetizers just to sample the array of flavors this gastropub is capable of. The food and drinks here are a cut above most urban gastropubs, in terms of price, portion size, and quality. Not to mention a great atmosphere. Regulars of the Alchemist will see specials constantly evolving with the adventurous creativity of the resident artists. Keep it up!

We enjoyed the Yelp holiday party so much that we promised we'd come back and today was the day. We were psyched to have the bone marrow dish we read about during the Yelp party. We ordered that, and another 'signature appetizer' "Merguez Sausage homemade spicy lamb sausage, crispy match stick potatoes, tender greens & harissa aioli". At the server's urging we also ordered the "Spicy Lobster Poppers tempura rice cakes & cilantro ponzu". We enjoyed the warm pita triangles with hummus as hubby sipped his Gold Fashioned (old fashioned with a brandied cherry and crispy bacon stirrer). As designated driver, I enjoyed an unsweetened iced tea. Then the plates arrived...and we were having such a good time. The sausage platter was a 14" or so wide white plate with 3 tasty sausages about the length and width of my pointer finger. The portion of overdressed mixed greens was about the size of my fist. The potato sticks were homemade and delicious. The aoli was good. But this $14 plate of food could have fit in their small old-fashioned water glasses with more than enough room to put another whole plate's worth of food inside. They need to either give bigger portions or use a very small plate. The lobster was served on a pretty rectangular plate. The small bits of claw meat (not the big grabber claw but the smaller one) were placed on 2" wide fried rice cakes garnished with micro greens. But the ponzu sauce was so salty that when the server asked us about it I told him that I felt that I each bump on my tongue had turned into spikes from the onslaught of sodium. Maybe they didn't shake the ponzu container before using it or something, I don't know but the salt blew out my tongue. Then we had the 'Roasted Bone Marrow stuffed with braised short rib and balsamic onions served with crostini"- which turned out to be short ribs and sweet sauteed onions filled into the hollow of dry beef bones and garnished with greens. While tasty, we didn't see or taste ANY marrow - and my bone was dried out. At the end of my piece there were dry, tiny holes. Both bones were dry, with short rib sitting inside. There was no wet part of the bones. There was no meat or creamy marrow on the bones. We think it's a gimmicky way to serve short ribs, a piece of gristle, and fat attached to some of the meat. I wonder if they re- use the bones - given that bones are porous how sanitary can that be? OMG I need to stop thinking about that. Maybe we had such a wonderful time at the Yelp party that we built up how great the food was in our minds. I don't know but I know that we worked out that hankering feeling that we had to return.

This place goes out of its way having an original menu. Plates and drinks will find you wondering. Dare!!! Be adventurous!!! You will not go wrong!!! Bartender gives guidance and all people I saw were thrilled with their plate and drink. This place also has great live music every now and then. Patrons at the bar engage in conversations with each other. Solo singles or strangers welcome!!! I had a great time. I ordered specialty drinks. Spicy ones, bacon ones, sour ones and sweet ones. Each one caught my eye and palate. On top of everything it is not expensive. Not cheap...but feels like an adorable high end place. Try it as soon as you can!

This is a hard review to write... our overall experience was incredibly poor - like comically bad. Management tried desperately to help us after the fact, but I still have to stick with 2-stars. Sorry, Alchemist. We arrived on Saturday at around 5:30pm, hoping to snag a few drinks and a few light bites prior to heading out to Clematis for some bar hopping and shopping. The place was largely empty - maybe 10 people spread between the indoor and outdoor seating areas. - Indoor bar area was freezing cold and very drafty. We normally like sitting at the bar, but it was too chilly, so we asked for a seat outside. + Promptly seated at a 2-top on the sidewalk - Server didn't arrive to table for well over 15-minutes. I know because I checked-in on Yelp and used it as a point of reference. We didn't have menus during our wait, so we couldn't explore and determine what we wanted. When he did arrive, he dropped off menus and said he'd "give us a minute" to decide on things... - I asked about any happy hour specials, and he said that Yuengling was $3 a tap. That was it. We ordered 2. - Beers arrived after a brief(er) wait. My glass was covered in lipstick, but the server was gone in a flash, so I wiped it off and tried to drink from the cleanest areas I could find. - Server reappeared and asked if we were ready to order. I asked about any daily specials, and he didn't know of any. He offered to go check, but we placed our orders: chicken wings and a salad, no dressing, no bacon. + Complimentary hummus was good; pitas were oily. And they arrived about 1-minute before our main dishes did. Would've been nice to have this during the lengthy wait for the food. - Food took 30+ minutes to arrive; server never followed-up with us during the 30 minutes. He dropped off our food and said he'd be right back. We noticed the salad had dressing and bacon... :-( - The bacon was *super* rubbery and fatty - Wings were swimming in sauce, and barely warm - Server didn't return to check on things; only dropped off the check while asking if we needed anything else. I went in to pay at the bar, because we sat (again) without seeing our server. When the bartender asked how things were, I explained that they were pretty bad. She grabbed a manager who talked to us about the visit. He asked what went wrong, and we relayed this entire story. He apologized profusely and said the server was held-up by a staff meeting that they were having. Manager said things were his fault; the staff meetings were mandatory, and servers weren't allowed to leave, no matter what. So... I get this, but why not have extra staff to attend to customers that may need attention during this time? In the end, they offered to re-make the meal and begged us to come back later in the night for free drinks. We declined the offer. So... I wanted to like the place. It had a cool feel, a good menu, and decent drinks. But the experience was so poor, I'd struggle to revisit if I were in the area again.

Hands down one of my favorite places to get a burger! The Alchemist Burger is to die for! 12oz of cheddar, stuffed pork burger, topped with pork belly, cracklings, baby kale & chipotle ketchup. You won't be disappointed!

This was my second time here but my first brunch experience with them. I am truly a fan. The servers are fantastic. Brett was awesome. Right away he brought us water and some pita and hummus to the table. We were waiting on a friend and ordered a starter and drinks while we waited. I got a bellini pitcher. He brought it out with two frosted glasses, so I could share. My fiance was drinking a bourbon (they have a nice selection), so when he brought out the King Crab guacamole, he cleared it so the table wouldn't be cluttered. The guacamole was incredible. Very fresh, with lots of chunks of real crab in it. It was served with seasoned tortilla chips and the portion was huge (the way I like it). When our friend arrived, I gave her my glass to try. Brett brought out another glass before we even needed to ask. We ordered the lobster roll, duck confit, and granola and yogurt. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The lobster roll was served with nice sized pieces of lobster on a soft buttery roll. It was really fantastic. We didn't think it was possible but we ate everything and really enjoyed. We were wined and dined. Brett came over several times to refill our drinks and water, as well as check up on us. Brunch he was great. The atmosphere was perfect!

The Alchemist has a very expansive menu and my fiancée and I can't wait to try every single item. We have only been there once, but I can say that their Duck Hash and Soft Shell Crab Benedict are both amazing concoctions. We both agreed that the portions might be on the smaller side for the price, however the flavor knocks it out of the park! We will definitely be returning here soon.

Sorry but I'm here at lunch and sober enough (this is located in prime time Clematis, the watering hole of West Palm) that I have to say while the ambience and the service are excellent the kitchen is just a step or two above the Duffy's down the street. The Caldo Kale soup was bland, watery and, surprisingly for kale and bacon which are both salty, underseasoned. The "pizza" is really a flatbread, with emphasis on the "flat" as the richness of the cheese and mushroom don't get enough counterbalance from the arrugula to keep it from feeling like it's not just snaking through my stomach and clogging up an artery or two. The empanada was heavily fried instead of baked and the skin was more fried wonton. The filling was tasty but the grease in the deep fry overwhelmed it. Overall the chef's cuisine seems to be heavy-handed on the fats and lacks some poetry on the flavors. With Hullabaloo up the street and the parking and traffic in this part of the area as bad as it is day and night, it's not a terrible place to grab a bite, but the kitchen is a two star FAIL enough that there are better, similar places I'd rather be nearby.

I loved this place! Went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and they had a live band playing, which created a great, relaxed atmosphere. It was pretty busy, but we found a couple seats at the bar. Our bartender, Stephanie, was amazing! She had a great attitude and seemed like she truly enjoys her job, and even though the bar was slammed, she still managed to give us great service! Stephanie recommended the pesto chicken flatbread, and I was not disappointed well worth the low $9.00 price tag. I ate the whole thing by myself (I was starving), but it's definitely large enough to share if you aren't looking to stuff your face. It had tons of chicken on it as well as basil pesto, mozarella cheese and watercress. So good! They have a great deal on Sunday of $10.00 pitchers of mimosas, bellinis and bloody marys. A single mimosa is $7.00, so even though I was the only one drinking it, I opted for the pitcher since that made more sense at $3.00 more. I ended up drinking the entire thing, which got me about 8 glasses worth, which would have been $56.00 if I ordered the mimosas individually, can't beat the $10.00 pitcher on Sundays! FYI - their mimosas are made with prosecco rather than champagne which I think is more delicious and their orange juice was fresh with a little bit of pulp!

I'm going to say this place is awesome. We've had many meals in different places, but I've NEVER had a Burger this Great! The Foie Burger is in its own class, it's a must try if you ever come to this place. My wife ordered the Skirt Steak Lettuce Wraps and they too were very good. Our service was great, and the Happy Hour was very good as well. All around great spot!

I'm actually very surprised by the four and five star reviews, unless this place is good for the area, which I'm still trying to figure out. We went last night and had the crab and avocado dip, the carnitas tacos and one of the burgers. I think I could have done it all better at home. My fiancé did have the tuna taco appetizer and said that was the only amazing dish. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't four or five star worthy. The service was great and the ambiance is pretty cool which is where my three star truly comes from. I also had a cocktail and that too was just meh! I was looking forward to trying this place but I think my expectations were too high.

Again another enjoyable visit to Alchemist!!! I really like the variety of drinks they offer. Last night we were delighted to be greeted at the bar by Keith, he's a very charming gentleman and knows how to treat patrons. Love this place! Thank you Keith!!! We will be back :-)

I'm always searching out local brunch spots and particularity ones that open a bit earlier. After seeing that The Alchemist opens at 10:00am I knew we'd have to check it out. The good thing about an early brunch is that there is usually never a wait. Yep, we got a table right away in the back around 11ish and on this Sunday it was super sunny and HOT but they kept the air cranked low so that even in this open restaurant it never felt sticky. My husband and I had been up since the weeeee early hours so I liked that they have a mix of breakfast and lunch to choose from. We started with the crab guacamole and a pitcher of Bloody Mary's. Ok.... I mainly go to brunch for a Bloody Mary and these were not good. A pitcher is $10.00 and you probably get 4 6oz drinks out of it (my guess) so it is way cheap. The flavor was exactly that. Nothing special I actually had to add Tabasco and pepper to give the plain tomato juice more flavor. Skip these if you love a real Bloody Mary. We started with the crab guacamole and it was great. Huge chunks of crab and the seasoned chips had just the right amount of seasoning. We also ordered the sausage plate and that was really really good! You get 2 different kinds of sausage dill baby pickles, pickled onions, caramelized onions and mustard. The only place they missed the mark on this was the pickles. I think they should be a sweet pickle. The dill did not compliment the sausage at all. When you arrive they give you complimentary pita and hummus. So between all that we never ordered entrees. After realizing that the Bloody Mary's were not gonna be finished we asked for beers but unfortunately after waiting 20 min for them we were told that they ran out the night before. So, all in all the food was probably 4.5 starts from what we tried but since the drinks were not good and they were out of anything else we wanted I'd have to say 3 stars. I'd give them another try for sure and hopefully the drinks would be better.

So I came to west palm for Memorial Day weekend. And this place was delicious. I have to say, their food was sooo good and their drinks as well. Must try their Mac and cheese. Also their brisk buns yummy. They give you pita and hummus to the table. Their service is on point. everyone here is super friendly and nice. They all give you recommendations based on their favorite which you can never go wrong because everything looks delicious and every taste as it sounds. Yummy. Would definitely return if I'm in the area an would recommend it to everyone. This isn't a typical pub. It's awesome.

This venue is amazing! The bartenders can mix up anything you want. Any obscure drink you want they can make. I asked for a sazerac!...they didn't blink. Just mixed up a perfect sazerac! The food here is exactly what you would expect from a place labeled "gastropub". Food here is an art. The presentation is rustic, and ingredients are mixed with a mathematic formula to make them all mix in your mouth to create new flavors you've never conceived. Between the Old Fashioneds and the food I'm stuck in this place. M I will be back.

Awesome food. The bone marrow was delicious. The lamb slides were so tasty. The salads are all so different. I suggest ordering lots of dishes and sharing. So many great things to try. And the service was great also.

I came here for brunch and a cocktail. Very friendly service and no wait time but I think they will become busy soon when people find out about it. The best part about this place is the menu. Its big- has everything from breakfast drinks, some vegetable juice drinks, soups, salads, breakfast stuff, lunch stuff, and several versions of a burger. edit- Came back for the signature burger. It compares to my favorite burger of all time, the one at buccan. The meat part was cooked medium, like I ordered, with a little bit of charred crunchiness on the outside. Flavorful greens, some kind of aioli, and great bread. There are so many things I want to try. This time I had the duck hash, shown in the picture. I've had some great shortrib hash, this compares but is not as greasy due to the lean duck meat. My opinion now is that duck hash is the best kind of hash. The sprigs of greens on top were a great touch. They add a very earthy vegetable flavor. Reminds me of my mom's cooking where it doesn't matter what dish, she goes out in the yard and pulls up herbs or greens to throw on top of it. Their cocktails are not traditional at all, most of them have juice, my favorite cocktail ingredient. I tried the applejuice cocktail and it was exactly what I want. Juicyjuice flavored alcohol. This place could easily exist in palm beach, but it is in wpb and has reasonable prices. edit- I'm usually a quiet person and I've been shushed by the bartender here. They are definitely proactive against loud idiots.

Loud, loud, LOUD!!!! I don't mind if I'm like ready to rock out and have a good time but if I'm sitting there trying to carry on a conversation and it's virtually impossible, that really sucks. The food was just okay. The place is pretty cool looking but I don't see anything to scream about.

From what I remember, my first few experiences here when they first opened were great. Delicious food, the cocktails were great, and the happy hour prices and variety were good. I wouldn't shut up about the place so I convinced some friends to go to brunch there this past Sunday. I was excited to order a pitcher of bellinis for the table because they were great last time, but was told by the waitress that they didn't have any because the purée was still frozen. I mean, we did get there at 1, and perhaps they didn't expect so many of their patrons to order bellinis, but how do you not have enough foresight to pre-emptively defrost your puree? We got a pitcher of mimosas instead, and they were fine, but there was a crazy amount of pulp in the orange juice they used and sadly I forgot my strainer at home. After a few pitchers and our meal--which was excellent, as usual, no complaints there--our waitress came over and suggested we savor our mimosas because they were running out of orange juice. Our disappointment showed because then she commented, "you look like your parents just died!" which was just a little odd, but we take our breakfast drinks very seriously. In the end, I'm making a big fuss over nothing, but after the drinks at brunch and the last time I went to happy hour (the amount of beers that were half off had also halved since the last time I had gone), I'm probably not going back for a while.

The 1st experience 6 months ago here was decent. The service was friendly on attentive. The bartender, not quite mixologist grade, but good. The Food coming out of the kitchen was tasty, not particularly memorable, but I do remember leaving satisfied overall. We went last Saturday and were very disappointed. We ordered 2 of their alchemy inspired cocktails, and returned both for being too bitter, and not inspired. The lobster app was over salted, the calamari fries just don't work. Either grill the whole tube or cut it into rings. The lengthwise fry cut tube and batter combo were not a success. Neither was pairing tztdiki with them. We has planned on ordering entrées but struck out with cocktails and appetizers. We decided not to take our chances on a third round. The service was friendly and accommodating, the product a complete crapshoot. We won't be rolling the dice here again.

I had an amazing time last night here at the bar. This place really had a love for service and food. I had my drinks made by Keith Popejoy, the executive bartender, who has this amazing pallet and creativity. Honestly a true master mixologist. Even when he was not there, his fellow bartenders are more than talented to make you a delicious beverage. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the company of Kelly O'Hara, executive chef. Chef took the time to make us a special dessert for the boyfriends birthday. A true culinary creation that would leave you licking your fingers. This place is a definite must visit.

Oops! Forgot to write my review for the Alchemist last month! After the Yelp Christmas party, I knew I had to return for more of their amazing food and drinks! We came on a Sunday night and brought Alyson M. and her boyfriend with us! Our friends were definitely impressed and we all had a great time! Food was even better than I remembered and our server was very attentive and friendly. This will definitely be our go-to dinner spot whenever we're near Clematis! Keep up the great work Alchemist!!

From the blue crab guacamole to the Cajun ribeye to the berries and cream (and the to die for macaroons as a garnish) I have never had anything there that I have not loved. Oh, and the drinks! Josh is my personal favorite bartender, but JoJo and Stephanie are also pleasant. The New Fashioned and Sazarec are up my alley but go outside of your box and try a Day of the Dead, or the Left Bank. They also have an amazing wine list. If you're in the area for lunch, they have great pizzas (chicken pesto) on thin crust, love the kale salad, and the vegan wraps and shishito peppers are a regular of mine. Zoran is the GM and always makes a point to say hello. It is, by far, my favorite place to take friends, or to just sit at the bar, enjoy some drinks and eat some bacon!!

The best part about this place is the bar serves little buckets of crispy bacon as a snack. Greatest. Idea. Ever. My friend and I arrived during happy hour while we were waiting to meet so e friends for dinner. Their happy hour isn't terribly good- a couple wine selections and house liquor. Luckily, I didn't much care at that point as I was engulfing my bacon, and the nice lady sitting next to me's bacon. Apparently, when they are more busy there is not as much bacons floating around, but it was around 6:30 and not very busy. After the bacons, everything else was just ok here. Well, except for the service, that was horrific. Had I not been distracted by good friends that I had not seen for some time, I'm sure I would have been much more irritated. Ok, food. Cheese and Pretzel Fondue: yum and should come with more pretzels! You only get three small sticks which is not nearly enough to sop up all of the delicious beer cheese! Tomato Bisque: nothing special; would not order again. Skirt Steak Lettuce Wraps: steak was very good, lettuce wraps difficult to eat, and peppers that came with it were disgusting. Truffle Mac: very creamy and yummy. I had ordered some sort of fruit tart for dessert. Instead, the "fruit jar" came out which was literally a mason jar type thing filled with berries and a ton of whipped cream. I was confused at first and then realized I got the wrong thing. I told the manager (he came by our table to say hi) and he said they were out of the thing I ordered and then took the fruit thing back! He also said the thing they were out if wasn't very good, which I thought was odd to say. After I had already tried it, so what was the point of taking it back! Then my server came over and said the alternate dessert was supposed to be free because they were out of mine, but since the manager took it away, I guess I was just shit out of luck there. It was very awkward and there was clearly a major miscommunication that happened. Friends ordered some cookie and shakes dessert which was two small milkshakes and chocolate chip cookies. None of it was very good. The service at his place is slow and disjointed at best, we didn't even know who our actual server was until the end! Would not make a point of going back.

Menu is enticing. Brussel sprout appetizer, AMAZING! Branzino fish dinner was superb. The carnitas tacos were disgusting. Tasted like charcoal bits of dust that just blew up in your mouth. Very poor design and execution on the chefs part. You are served pitas and hummus before your meal. It would be nice if they were a little warm and not ice cold. Hummus was basic. Atmosphere very loud! Service excellent. Drinks were just ok. All in all for us food snobs, this time we found a place with bright possibilities. We want to go back and try their burgers. Those Brussel sprouts we will be ordering every time! Also they were out of the leg of lamb. That is on our list as well.

Really good. The cocktails are creative and tasty. Have not tried the steak dinner. The shrimp po boy was typical of po boys served outside of Louisiana, so I don't take off points for that. They use a hoagie roll which doesn't work well, but the shrimp were good. Also, the burgers are fantastic with several different flavors and toppings.

Only came for the drinks. They had a special on Chimay on tap so of course that's what I ordered. The SO had some kinda red wine which I was told was good. The Chimay was cold and in a proper glass so I was happy. Ordered some apps. I got the Fried Shishito Peppers and she the Chicken Pate Jar. The Jar looked pateish... I can't tell you much more than that. She said it was excellent though. The Peppers were.. odd. Just a basket of peppers lightly fried and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Wasn't quite what I was expecting but not bad either. Next time I will come hungry and try the food. The physical location is beautiful. Lots of wood and textures and pictures everywhere. Make sure you check out the bathrooms. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive as well.
